Professor of Physical Education and head football coach at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) Don Salls, right, stands with Bud Byrd as he signs a grant in aid to play center and linebacker at Jacksonville State. Byrd was from Scottsboro where he was selected as All State center. (circa April 1, 1964)
