Description

Lemuel Jesse Bishop was presented the first diploma by Jacksonville State Normal School in 1886. Some 80 years later his granddaughter, Mrs. Ethel C. Harris, returned the diploma for framing and placement in Alumni Hall at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University). An unidentified male looks at the sheep skin as Mrs. Ethel C. Harris holds the diplomas inside an office. (circa September 7, 1966)
