Description

Jacksonville State College was host to an all-day legislative session on January 21, 1961. Nominees for offices in the State Youth Legislature from District II were also announced. They represented the district at the electoral college in Montgomery February 11, 1961. From left, front row, George Gibbins (House floor leader), Nancy Carr (clerk of the House), Jane Brown (secretary of the Senate), John Lumpkin (lieutenant-governor), Charles Booth (Senate floor leader), (second row) Curtis Nolen (president pro tem of the Senate), Webb Sledge (speaker of the House), and Terry Akridge (governor).
