Selected by the Jacksonville State University publicity department, Gems of the Hills were chosen for their attractiveness, poise, and charm. Lynn Thompson was chosen as a Gem of the Hills in October 1963. A freshman from Anniston, she is shown in the back of a cotton truck filling a bag with cotton. (circa October 28, 1963)
