Awards Day was observed at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) on May 2, 1962 with Congressman Albert Rains as the guest speaker. His speech was titled, "Politics Is Your Business." Shown after his address he shakes hands with SGA President Brad Mitchell. Other SGA officers James Justice, Joan Smithey, and Gerald Waldrop stand with them.
