Officers of the Northeast Alabama Junior Science Academy and their counselors met at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) on February 3, 1962 in Ayers Hall to plan the annual spring Northeast Alabama Regional Science Fair. Seated from left were Bob Dennis from Sylacauga (Secretary), Diane Cottingham from Jacksonville (Treasurer), Bob Cantrick from Jacksonville (President), Essie Friday from Sylacauga (Vice-President). Standing from left were W.C. Berryman of Sylacauga High School (Counselor), Dr. Harold Strickland (Regional Counselor), Reuben Boozer (Coordinator for the Alabama Academy of Science), and Mrs. Floyd P. Tredaway of Jacksonville High School (Counselor).
