Awards Day was observed at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) on May 2, 1962 with Congressman Albert Rains as the guest speaker. His speech was titled, "Politics Is Your Business." Shown after his address he speaks with two new officers of the Student Government Association, Brad Mitchell (President) and Joan Smithey (Secretary).
