Dr. Kermitt Johnson, president of the Alabama Education Association and superintendent of Jefferson County Schools, visited Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) to speak to faculty and students of his alma mater June 12, 1963. Shown left to right are Dr. Johnson, Florence Bates, president of the Jacksonville Teachers Association, and Dr. Ernest Stone, superintendent of Jacksonville City Schools.
