Description

Standing inside Leone Cole Auditorium at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University), May 1963 graduates wear aprons. As their apron reads, they were awarded life memberships in the Hash Slingers Association by head dietitian Hazel Hudson (far right). The five have worked their way through college as dishwashers and waitress. From left are Opal Johnson (assistant dietitian), Winston Wheeles, Martha Morris, and Paul Bain. Not present were Brad Mitchell and James Haynes.
