In observance of National Library Week, high school and college students interested in librarianship were invited to Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) to hear Fannie Schmitt, chairman of the library science department at Florence State College, speak on "Librarianship as a Profession." Students also visited the Ramona Wood Library. Shown from left inside the library are Doris Bennett, Fannie Schmitt, Martha Holcombe of Oxford High School, Bruce Pickett of Jacksonville High School, and Priscilla Fowler of Southside High School.
