Dixie Dennis was a student at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University). In 1964 she was an Honorary Captain of the National Society of Pershing Rifles. She was one of eleven candidates competing for the title of "Queen of the Military Ball" on April 1, 1964. (circa March 25, 1964)
