Members of the executive committee of the Northeast Alabama Junior Science Academy met at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) in February 1963 to plan the annual spring Northeast Alabama Regional Science Fair to be held March 22-23, 1963. Seated from left were Al Hand from Heflin (Vice-President), Janice Chitwood from Fort Payne (Secretary), Tommy Black from Attalla (Treasurer), W.C. Berryman of Sylacauga High School (Advisor to the President). Standing from left were Andy Curley from Heflin, Billy Jack Noles from Fort Payne, Robert Humphries from Attalla (Science teachers and Advisors).
