Description
The Civil Defense stored emergency food on Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University)'s campus in February 1963. Survival supplies were delivered to Bibb Graves and Daugette Hall. Shown outside men organize barrels of drinking water near Bibb Graves Hall. Bibb Graves Hall was Calhoun County's largest fallout shelter capable of sheltering 1,710 people in case of atomic attack. Students shown helping, from left, were Wayne Ashworth, Bruce Ratliff, Jimmy Mikul, and Mike McGuire. (circa February 15, 1963)
