The Northeast Alabama Regional Science Fair was held March 30-31, 1962 at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University). Essie Friday from Sylacauga High School won a first place ribbon with her project titled "The Inheritance of Bluish Pigment in Red Swordtails."
