The 1961-1962 Miss Mimosa pageant was held inside Leone Cole Auditorium at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) December 14, 1961. Crowned as Miss Mimosa 1961 was Cecilia Upton. Radio station WAAX of Gadsden's Mike McDougald was Master of Ceremonies for the event. Shown is Queen Cecilia Upton wearing the crown and holding her flowers and trophy in hand while seated on the steps on stage.
