Description
Jimmy Hammett was a student at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University). In 1962-1963 he was a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel and First Battalion Commander of the First Battalion Staff in the ROTC. Hammett also was awarded the honor of Distinguished Military Students.
