Description

The Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) Hammond Hall was named for J.D. Hammond, the Alabama legislator who was instrumental in getting the State Normal School for Jacksonville. Hammond Hall is located directly south of Bibb Graves Hall, acquired in 1943. In 1961 Hammond Hall, the school cafeteria, employed over fifty students and had a seating capacity of over five hundred. (circa 1961)
