Description

Dr. Donald J. Salls was Head Coach at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University). During his 15 years at Jacksonville he developed eight Little All America players. They are Jodie Connell (1953 Guard), Blackie Heath (1946 Halfback), John Willams (1947 Fullback), Al Woodham (1954 Halfback), Billy Hicks (1955 Fullback), Bill Nichols (1958 Halfback), Jim Glasgow (1958 Tackle), and Arland Carter (1961 Halfback). Salls was presented the plaque during the annual football banquet program held January 12, 1962.
