Description
Elaine Gerstlauer received the honor of being named "Miss Jacksonville" during the annual summer carnival held at Jacksonville State Teachers College August 12, 1947. Speaker of the House and an alumnus of the college, William Beck, crowned Miss Gerstlauer "Queen of the Carnival" in a ceremony held on the terrace of Bibb Graves Hall.
