Don Salls was a Professor of Physical Education and the Head Coach of the football team at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) in 1960. Shown, right, he looks on as West End High School student Johnny Tipton, center, signs a Gamecock scholarship. Standing left is Coach Sam Short of West End. (circa February 21, 1960)
