Description
President at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University), Dr. Houston Cole was presented the Army's Distinguished Civilian Award at Fort McClellan on Wednesday April 6, 1966 in recognition of service he rendered to his institution, his community, and his state. Lieutenant General Louis W. Truman, commander of the Third Army, presented the award to Dr. Cole. Shown Dr. Cole stands in line with unidentified others during the ceremony.
