Description

President at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University), Dr. Houston Cole was presented the Army's Distinguished Civilian Award at Fort McClellan on Wednesday April 6, 1966 in recognition of service he rendered to his institution, his community, and his state. Shown Lieutenant General Louis W. Truman, commander of the Third Army, presents the award to Dr. Cole outside with color guard standing behind them.
