Selected by the Jacksonville State University publicity department, Gems of the Hills were chosen for their attractiveness, poise, and charm. Glenda Templin was chosen as a Gem of the Hills in October 1964. A sophomore from Columbiana, she is shown with a broom before Halloween. (circa October 28, 1964)
