On December 7, 1940, Company H, 167th Infantry, of the Alabama National Guard left for camp. 119 Jacksonville men were with Captain C.W. Daugette, Jr. and Lieutenants Edwin Morgan, James Kemp, and Ray Sibert. Six men of the company were killed in action.
