Description
Commencement was held at Jacksonville State College on May 29, 1953 in the College Bowl. Degrees were conferred upon 139 graduates by President Houston Cole and Dean C.R. Wood. Dr. C.R. Wood accepted a portrait of the late Miss Mary Forney on behalf of Jacksonville State College. The portrait was presented by Probate Judge G. Clyde Brittain on behalf of former students and friends. The portrait was hung in the library.
