Description

Charles McKee "Doc" Gary was a Chemistry and Physics professor as well as Forney Hall dormitory director at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) until his retirement in 1962. His students gave him the title "Doc." The auditorium in Ayers Science Hall is named for Doc Gary. Before his death in 1967, Mr. Gary gave the university an antique silver punch bowl and other pieces that were then valued at ten thousand dollars. President Houston Cole stands with Mr. Gary at the presentation.
