Description
Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) announced in late February 1966 that the new men's dormitory is to be named Dixon Hall. Dixon was chosen to honor former Alabama Governor Frank Dixon. It was officially dedicated on September 12, 1966. The building of Dixon Hall was projected to be completed by August 1966. This new building was part of an expansion program planned to help upgrade student education in the northeast Alabama area. Shown here is a drawing for the new building that appeared in the Fall 1965 issue of the Collegian.
