The annual Northeast Alabama Regional Science Fair was held March 24-26, 1966 at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University). Junior High winner Richard Austin won second place in the field of chemistry for his project titled "Synthesis of a Nitrogen Oxide Compound from Air."
