The annual Northeastern Alabama Regional Science Fair at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) was held March 26-27, 1965. Micahel Martin from Jacksonville High School was one of the 14 first place winners, winning first place overall, with his project titled "Practicalities of Optical Microwave Communication and Telemetry."
