The annual Northeastern Alabama Regional Science Fair at Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) was held March 26-27, 1965. Ronnie Owens from Sylacauga High School was one of the 14 first place winners, winning second place overall, with his project titled "The Mental and Physical Effects of Acceleration on Mice."
