Selected by the Jacksonville State University publicity department, Gems of the Hills were chosen for their attractiveness, poise, and charm. Bonnie Morris was chosen as a Gem of the Hills in June 1964. A freshman majoring in Home Economics, she is seated outside beating the heat making ice cream.
