Description

Located north of Jacksonville, Alabama was the community of Merrellton, established in 1884 and named for postmistress Adelia E. Frank's daughter Merrell. Children are shown beside the "giant stride" during clean-up day held December 8, 1914. The original was courtesy of C.W. Daugette.
