Freda Cartlidge was crowned as "Queen Spring Festival" on April 20, 1956 at the Annual Spring Festival at Jacksonville State College. She was escorted by Gary Gregg. Shown with them were her attendants Beulah Richey accompanied by Walter Paige and Mary Dickson accompanied by Floyd Maze, Jr.
