Description

The State Normal School organized its first women's basketball team in 1902. It was divided into two groups, Tumblers and Scramblers. Identified are Mrs. W.B. Merrill standing on the back row, Kate Caldwell and Nell Hopkins seated on the front row (both captains). The original was courtesy of Mrs. W.B. Merrill and appeared in the October 1967 issue of Alumni News.
