Description

Performed: 19 May 2017; Wim Coleman's "The Shackles of Liberty" was the winner of the 2016 Southern Playwrights' Competition. The play is a fictionalized account of Thomas Jefferson's last day in Paris in 1789 and focuses on his relationships with lover Maria Cosway, older daughter Martha, and slave mistress Sally Hemings. The director was Carrie Colton, stage manager was Cheyenne Oliver, assistant stage managers were Tiffany Jenkins, Larry Mason, and Kevin Jannot, vocal coaches were Larry Mason and Carrie Colton, dramaturg was Rebecca Weaver, sound designer was Kevin Jannot, design/technical coordinators were Freddy Clements, Nicholas Hoenshell, Larry Mason, and Randy Blades, prop coordinators were Libby Hays and Kevin Jannot, box office manager was Linda Adams, graphic design assistant was Meghan Lee, producer/department head was Randy Blades.
