Description

Dr. Theron E. Montgomery became president of Jacksonville State University on July 1, 1981. The presidential inauguration was held April 30, 1982 inside Pete Mathews Coliseum. The investiture of the president was given by Honorable Fob James, Governor of Alabama, before an audience of dignitaries, spring graduates, and guests. Shown are Governor Fob James (center) with Dr. Ernest Stone (left), retiring president, and Dr. Theron Montgomery (right), incoming president.
