Description

J.W. Stephenson taught Physical Education for Men at Jacksonville State Teacher's College in 1932-1933. Known as "Coach Steve" he was first named the basketball coach in 1927 and retired in 1954. In 1972 he was the first coach inducted into the Gamecock Athletic Hall of Fame. (circa 1933)
