Description

Located north of Jacksonville, Alabama was the community of Merrellton, established in 1884 and named for postmistress Adelia E. Frank's daughter Merrell. State Normal School students are shown playing a game called "skinning the snake" during clean-up day held December 8, 1914. The original was courtesy of C.W. Daugette.
