Description

Dedication ceremonies for the Harry M. Ayers Vocational Technical School were held September 6, 1965. Around 15 buildings were constructed for the school in the city industrial park near Golden Springs. A group of dignitaries stand on stage during the dedication ceremony. Identified are Dr. Houston Cole (president of Jacksonville State College), Dr. Austin Meadows (State Superintendent of Education), Governor George Wallace (featured speaker), Representative Hugh Merrill, and Senator Bill Nichols.
