Three Jacksonville State University Law Enforcement students were sworn in as members of the Oxford Police Department on May 7, 1971. Shown each stands with one arm raised during an oath. The students were, from left, Charles Rose, Gerald Owen, Billy White. Standing far right may be Oxford Police Chief W.O. Walden.
