Description

Students at Jacksonville State Teachers College elected officers to the 1943-1944 Student Council during the election held May 26, 1943. The new officers of the Student Council were installed by Dr. R.P. Felgar, history department head and advisor for Student Council, June 29, 1943 during an assembly. President Houston Cole introduced Dr. C.B. Smith, president of Troy State Teachers College, who spoke on, "For What Are We Educating?" Shown on stage left to right are Houston Cole, C.B. Smith, ?, and Frances Weaver.
